Neurodivergence in the Workplace

Characteristic Specific Sessions

The Neurodivergence in the Workplace training is designed to provide employers and colleagues with the understanding and skills necessary for creating a supportive and neuro inclusive workplace; one which enables people with neurodivergent and neurominority conditions to feel valued, respected, and more psychologically safe to the benefit of all staff.

The course includes, all with intersectional perspectives:

  • The daily impact of neurodivergent conditions, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and OCD (as well as common co-occurring mental health conditions),
  • The varied manifestations of neurodivergence alongside cultural factors
  • How to identify and avoid some common misconceptions, myths and stereotypes.
  • Typical strengths and skills of neurodivergent individuals
  • Recognise and address common potential barriers to inclusion for neurodivergent individuals
  • Guidance on language
  • The social model of disability

Through facilitated discussions via case studies, the course aims to enable attendees to be more confident and proactive in dealing with the distinct needs of neurodivergent colleagues and providing a genuinely inclusive environment which respects the complexity of neurodivergent people’s lives and identities.
