Capacitybuilding and facilitation have been a significant part of Sonia’s two-decadeexperience in the sector, and she has trained teams across organisationalhierarchies – from outreach teams to programme designers and governmentcounterparts. As part of recent engagements with the World Health Organization(WHO), Sonia led the development of a course on mainstreaming gender equality,disability, and social inclusion (GEDSI) in water, sanitation and hygiene(WASH) in health-care facilities and the development of a multi-product packageto strengthen mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in the context ofCOVID-19 recovery and further pandemics and emergencies. The multi-productpackage online training was conducted across 10 countries in the South EastAsia Region. Her ability to guide groups through complex discussions anddecision-making processes contributes to the overall success of collaborativeinitiatives.
